So wait... ONLY deep bites will transfer this disease to other cats? So, if Charlie decides to Chase around Molly, and maybe accidentally scratches her (and cuts the skin), this won't transfer? O_o
And yes, he's fixed... that's how we found out h...
Sam, you are lucky that Charlie has FIV instead of feleuk! Feleuk is very easily spread to other cats but FIV can only be transmitted by a deep bite such as delivered when male cats are fighting or mating with a female. If Charlie is now fixed and...
Well... the person that was interested in Charlie just informed me that his parents said no, because of his FIV...
I'm a bit broken up about this, as I was hoping they were the ones... We'd been talking for at least two days now...
It's a blow t...
I'm a female, and a big cat lover. Also love video games, amusement parks, drawing, writing, reading (all three of these, when the mood strikes) and basically, anything remotely fun.

Now you can tell us a little about your cat (s)
We have 3 permanent cats and 1 stray that we finally accepted here after like three months of being around.
The three permanent are Bebe, Ty, and Molly. The stray is Charlie.
Molly (gray w/white streaks and green eyes) was originally my brother's kitten. He left her in our care a long while ago, and she's full grown now. She's a feisty one, but is really nice when in the mood. She also loves to play. She's a big kitten at heart.
Ty (all black... sort of chocolatey, but all black) is the last of a litter of five. He outlived all of his siblings and his mother. He's indoors only, and he's healthy as a horse. He's been around since about '93, iirc.
Bebe (same as Ty) was a stray that we took in a while ago. He's super sweet and gentle, and walks with a limp. (there's a story behind this... we're not neglectful.)
Charlie (same as the other two.. but seems even more chocolate in color when in the sun) is a recent addition, even if we didn't want it... He sort of adopted us. He's been around for about three months.

so sorry to hear the sad news about Charlie. I've been there, years before the vaccines and treatments they have for cats now. I hope he finds a home, he can live a good life. I have 11 cats of my own right now, several are new comers from being homeless. I'm fortunate enough to be in a position where I can get vouchers from animal control for free spay & neuters and all my cats are taken care of when they're big enough.
Charlie is a very handsome cat and best wishes come from my cat Raven
