Rachel...could you help Jerilyn welcome the new members? I'd really like them to feel welcome and I don't get over here near enough.

Tell us a little about yourself (not the cats)
I am a lover of all things fuzzy (and non fuzzy). I'm a volunteer member of the North Valley Animal Disaster Group and a volunteer with the Butte Humane Society with whom I have fostered kittens before. I've had animals of all kinds all my life and really felt that each one was a big part of my life and family. I continue to be involved in the welfare of animals and am in the beginning stages of starting the Animal Relief Fund for emergency pet food in my county (for all pets).
State (for sorting purposes)
California

Why did you join the site?
I joined this site because I'm on the Rescue Committee for Going To The Rescuers. I'm an avid cat fan and interested in networking to help cats in need.
Who refered you to this site?
Doreen (I think) :)
Now you can tell us a little about your cat (s)
I have two very lively cats. My five year old is Jasmine, a grey and white tabby. She's very, very affectionate and will curl up right on you and demand to be cuddled! I had her since she was a kitten and I handled her so much which is why she's extremely needy. She can't be left overnight without someone checking on her. She not independent at all.
Indy is my little guy who just turned one. I fostered him as a kitten and he wasn't getting adopted at any of the mobile adoptions because he wasn't showing his personality. So I adopted him because I loved him. Turns out his personality is wild!, but also shy around new people. I named him Indy after the Indianapolis 500 because he ran everywhere when he was a kitten; he didn't know how to just walk. Also because he is super curious and jumps and leaps off of everything so he's Indiana Jones. I call him Mr. Jones when he's being naughty.
My two cats have really complimented each other and Jasmine acts like a kitten again. They chase each other all over the house and lounge on the bed together. They're both super teriffic cats!

Crazy Kitty Syndrome

There is nothing more eye opening than being pounced by a cat at 4 in the morning. Lately my one year old and five year old cat have taken to a little early morning play session. It's not the playing on the bed that's disconcerting but the random head or body pouncing that you are totally not expecting. To top that off I can't wave off my cute little bundle of joy because when he's in crazy kitty mode, he attacks anything that moves, covers, hands, feet. It's crazy!
