I also volunteer as the Website Director for Going To The Rescuers.

Nick Sym wrote this, one of many, for me.

~~~~ He knows me well! ~~~
This poem is dedicated to ~~ Jerilyn Merideth ~~
in recognition for her hard work in making this a safer and cleaner planet!
~~~~ Our Blue Marble ~~~~

I look up into the sky,
and wonder what is in store

For in this the grand Universe,
there must be a whole lot more

Was it God's intention?
for us to be alone

On this bluish marble,
in the heavens, we call our home

There must be brothers and sisters,
out there, trying to say hello

For all that we have done as people,
what do we have to show

It is the cries of the starving children,
that we seem to ignore

No, it is not our problem, so in our hearts,
we conveniently close the door

Maybe it is the beggars and the homeless,
the one's we turn our heads from each day

Could it be the aged and the handicapped?
our wishes for them to go away

It is time for us to pay,
for our mistakes

To rectify the situation,
no matter what it takes

Get rid of the poisons from the air,
and let the babies breathe

Shed the blackness from our souls,
and once again start to believe

Clean the lakes and oceans,
from the smell of death

Give our mammal cousins,
a long awaited breath

This is our planet,
the big blue marble we call our home

But do not be mistaken,
for we are not alone.

My son and I rescued a small Manx kitten, Bobbie, in '95. He allowed her to have litters and to make sure they were cared for I ended up with a few and found good homes for the rest. I have her babies and grandbabies with me to this very day! She passed away in 2005 from kidney cancer.
I also have other rescued cats and a rescued dog. My cats ages range from 15 yrs to 3 yrs.
4 of my Manx love to play fetch except Joker Joe aka: Brother (my profile picture). He plays keep away! His favorite toy is his orange rats! And yes, he is as spoilt as he looks! ;)

He does get his sister's blue rat every now and then! LOL

Do you rescue or foster cats?
Yes ... but I have a full house! AND a "drop off" and her new born babies under my house!
UPDATE: We got the babies inside just before the freezing weather. It took 2 days to get mama cat hungery enough that she finally hit the trip lever and we put her with the babies right away. Thank God I've fed new borns before and knew what to do. I have been weighing them and they are growing. I'm glad we got them in so they won't be feral. Now, I have to get mama cat to trust me. She hides and hisses at us when we go in to feed and change litter. It will take some time. I'm NOT going to push my luck! We bring the babies out while she eats and play with them. They are beautiful. 1 red boy, 1 siamese girl, and 3 black and tan stripped girls. I'll have to start a blog! LOL I'm taking lots of pictures .. of course! Just ask mine! They have all grown up in front of the camera! ;)
Do you Transport cats?
Yes! .. When available. Tupelo/Columbus area.
Do you Crosspost for rescue groups or sites?
YES! *****PLEASE NOTE***** WE NEED HELP POSTING HERE ON GOING TO THE CATS. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! THANKS, Me,Cat

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY TEDDY BEAR

I was sure I felt his touch today, in the wind that gently passed by.

And that was when I heard an angel say, "His spirit will never die."

I thought I saw his furry face today, in a beam of the morning sun.

And then I heard the angel say, "His work on earth is done."

I know I heard his purr today, then meow his gentle meow.

And then I heard the angel say, "He has taking Heavens path."

I dreamt I saw a broken heart, in the crescent of the moon.

And then I heard the angel say, "The Lord will be coming soon."

I thought that he had left us, for the stars so far above.

And then I heard the angel say, "He left us with his love."

I thought we would all miss you so, and never find our way.

And then I heard the angel say, "He will be with you every day."

"The stars, the moon and Heaven above, will forever be around,

reminding us of the love he shared, and the peace he has finally found."

Jerilyn,
I'm sorry I freaked you out, I'm sure you must have thought something was pretty weird. As a practice, I will leave my messages for a good while, it looks like you can just let them accumulate til whenever I guess. I just joined the three groups on the Dog Site, I wasn't a member of any, but am now. I had to take my son over to his dad's house. I just couldn't handle it any longer. He was tormenting the dogs, which in tern gets my dander up !!!!! I said, enough of this, get ready your're goin'. He didn't fight back, I showed him that I will do it if he pushes me. You've seen a little kid bother an animal, pull their tails, or pick at them? Well, Scott's 15 yet he does this almost daily! Yes, you heard me, daily! I'm not sure what to think, unless it's a way to get under mom's skin, maybe he's even jealous of the dogs, knowing how much I care about them. He doesn't take a back seat to the animals, but he might think he does. Anyway, I'm about to get off of here. My back and neck are starting to bother me. Hope you have an enjoyable evening! I"m glad we are caught up on the posts on the Cat site. :-)

Hey Girl,
I'm finally getting on line, my day hasn't been too bad. The kitten seems to be waking less often. Think the formula is working and he's getting more in his tummy. He's such a sweetheart, I've been carrying him around holding him near my neck --- he's in heaven ! I enjoy it too. He's loves to cuddle. I think he can hear me. I'm trying to test him, he seems to -- I hope so. Now if only his eyes open and he sees. I'm like a mother hen with him. He's a joy. Glad to hear from you. Sounds like you have a nice weekend, a break from hubby -- that always helps -- I can remeber those once in a while. Enjoy those grandkids, they grow up all too fast. I might try to give you a call . . . not sure of my weekend plans, I really don't make any especially now with the zoo Im running, lol. We will probably have to mow the yard, but Scott can do that. I may just do nothing, I rarely do that and need to now and then. My daughter is having boyfriend problems, they have been together for two years, but today she tells me they haven't been dating for a while --- yet, he's her best friend and vice versa, not sure how they will do this. He's still riding home with us after school, so go figure. He's a sweety, I think he really cares for Sarah, and it's gonna be hard as they are in every class together, they saw to that when scheduling and will also see each other next year. That can be hard, but maybe just some time apart will help. I have the feeling Sarah is feeling smothered and maybe even wants to spnend more time with her girfriends. I know Tim gets jealous of her when she doesn't see him but does things with her friends -- that really isn't healthy and I told her that. They always seem to work thorugh their issues, but they are so young and a whole life ahead of themselves. Love is blind as they say . .. I can't remember, not sure I want to go there again. I'm enjoying my freedom, my furr babies, my kids and home . . . I guess I'm setting my ways now and really don't know I'm up for doing for a man again. Seems to work that way you know. Anyway, Scott's with me this weekend, so I don't know what my weekend will be like, but if I do get a break or two I may give you a buzz. I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend !! You deserve it. Enjoy and I"ll touch base tomorrow. Love Ya, Hug-Hug . . . Cindy

Thank you for the welcome. Feel right at home here. I read your profile, and I have been on disability for depression since 1998. I see this as a positive because I can be with my pets 24/7. I've never married or had children so what I call my own little zoo are my family. And even with my limited income, they always get everything they need. On the 3rd of each month, I head for Wal Mart and when they start ringing up all the cat, dog, rabbit and bird food I very often get the question how many cats do you have. I have no problem letting them know I have 10 and have new kittens on the way and I get that "are you out of your mind" look. So be it, I'm probably happier with my family than they are. Going to add a couple of videos I think you'll enjoy.
