Tell us a little about yourself (not the cats)
I am an animal lover and I'll try anything to help animals. They depend on us. I am a mother of two teens and have 4 pets; 2 cats and 2 dogs. I'm from the North East and have been living here in the south close to twenty five years now. I'm glad to be a part of this special group and hope I can contribute in some way.
When did you join the network?

Why did you join the site?
My good friend Jerilyn/Moma Manx. invited me. She's an amazing person, she gives her life for animals. She inspires me and with my love of cats and all animals, I joined, hoping to do what I can to help.
Who refered you to this site?
Mama Manx, site admin.
Now you can tell us a little about your cat (s)
My cats, I have two. One is Jasmine. She is short haired, black, came to us as a stray. She's sort of sheepish around people, even us really. She pretty much lives in the garage and doesn't seem to want to come inside. Then I have Daisy-Mae who is a Calico. Both are about 9 or 10 years old now and great pets. Daisy likes her "Temptations" treats before bedtime. In my bedroom I have a small bowl and her treats stashed there -- when she is ready to go to bed, in my room of course, I give her a little bedtime treat. Our new kitten was broght to us Sunday, April 19 as an abandoned newborn. No mother or siblings to be seen where she was found. So, given that they neighbors know I have rescued little baby birds and love animals and all, thought I'd be a good candidate to take this little thing in. As soon as I saw him, I knew he had to come here and I had to take care of him. He's eating kitten formula, has a nice little nursery with a heating pad, soft blankets, a stuffed kitten and "me" at his beckon call. He's very sweet, I just hope I don't get too attached because I know me and that's what will happen. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Do you have a website or social network?

Do you rescue or foster cats?
Well, I don't foster officially or is it known to the public, but that's basically what I am doing right now for this abandoned kitten that was brought to me this week.. This is my first experience fostering I might add. It's something I might consider doing more of in the future, but I'd like to get through this first, there's a lot to learn and to feel comfortable with. I don't think just anyone can foster and it takes alot of love & patience; a desire to help the helpless -- that's a given. As for rescuing, again, I'm not really up on that either as to what's involved. My time on Care2 really got me exposed to what's out there and can be done by those who feel the calling. Right now though, fostering this little one is what I'm focusing on. Let's just say I'm not saying no to rescuing, but I need to take one step at a time and also take into consideration what I am physically able to do. Fostering is already something I feel I can do.
Do you Transport cats?
No I am not able to at this time, but maybe at some other time in the future.
Do you Crosspost for rescue groups or sites?
I currently cross-post for this site.

Cat Site: Welcome message 2:

Hi and welcome to Going To The Cats rescue network. My vision for this network is that the rescue folks actually have a place to network. One way we can do this is by advertising what we do. Blog...blog...blog. In your blog you can post pictures of your rescues, your adoption kids, brag on your place, your self, your business, whatever. Let us get to know what you do, who you are. Talk to each other, comment on each others pages. Connect...

I believe we will become family quickly. We are all about cats here with one common cause.

This is a rescue network...crossposters, transporters, pullers, vets, techs, supporters of all kinds. Invite anyone and everyone that you belive will help. Some people want to donate money. GREAT! We need it. Some people will pray. GREAT...we need them. Bring them in, because this is gonna be the place of all places that will be saving the cats and people will be touched in the process.

If I'm not already your friend, please add me. Come by my page and let's be friends! I'm very glad you are here. Please check out the main page. Lots of information happens there. Please check it often. And look for me on the chat!

God bless!

Hugs,
Doreen

(Also, as a side note, I make and sell healthy dog cookies..no wheat or corn. FREE SHIPPING!!Check out my page if you are interested!)

PS...Please don't change your personal information. We back up our data and use that information to help us rescue cats.

PSS...If you want to help us in any way...either by posting, researching, recruiting, praying...if you have something that you think we need...please come to one of the Administrators...WE NEED YOU! You are NOT here by mistake. :) We welcome you with open arms. Thank you for coming!

PSSS...If you want to donate to help us help the cats, (or already agreed to) please do so on the main page...WE NEED IT! Also, if you have an animal business or just want to advertise your rescue we are "selling" slots for 5 bucks a month coming soon. Let me know if you are interested.

PSSSS...We have a dog site too: www.goingtothedogs.ning.com Please join us there too!

Hi Daisy-Mae,
Just saw you pictures, they are all adorable pictures. I have some new kittens also from 2 homeless cats I took in, they're ready to find new homes.
Also wanted to let you I sent an e-mail to Hunto.com asking them to please remove that video graphic. I hope they will oblige. If not there are plenty of other graphic sites to use.
